Creative discussions between artists always bear fruitful results, and so it was here.
A charming chemist and master hair artist approached me looking to renew and refresh his workspace after 15 years. We began the process with a vision of combining modern aesthetics with touches of inspiration from the East.
Focusing on creating an inviting and functional space, it was vital to create a unique, innovative atmosphere for the local beauty and hair salon market.
Conducting in-depth research on current industry design trends among similar businesses, as well as doing extensive research on the world of hair and beauty spaces and their effects on those who work in them, special attention was given to the female clientele who frequent the salon regularly year-round.
The goal was to create a space that combined clean and minimalist lines, with rich textures and rough patterns, all brought together with the selected material palette, providing an exciting visual experience that maintained feelings of comfort befitting a modern salon.
Dividing the space into two work areas, trees and tropical plants surround the seating and waiting areas in the center of the tall room, which serve as the beating heart of the business.
At the back, an indulgent shampooing area with an emphasis on textures and a custom-designed wall element metaphorically depicts female hair, along with colors embedded to compliment the nature of the space.
